Alexei Zheleznyak, Mustafaev Mugsad, Igor Rudenko, Alexander Fomenko and others almost cried when they told of their opposition to the war, newspaper The Mirror.

Distraught soldiers told the world of their anguish when they saw fellow soldiers being thrown into mass graves.

Zheleznyak, a soldier from the 34th separate motorized rifle brigade stationed in Russia’s Karachay-Cherkess Republic, said that Putin “is a liar and deceives all our people”.

According to the translation, he said: “Putin, not declaring war, is bombing residents, hospitals, cities of Ukraine.

“People of Russia, don’t look at zombies. Ukrainians are a brave people. They will stop this (Russian) device even without weapons. They are united.

“No matter how much Putin sends his troops here, he will not take this territory… Our commander-in-chief is a liar and deceives all of our people.

“He deceived not only us, but the whole of Russia. He simply got the fascists out of us.”

Mustafaev Mugsad, with the same rifle brigade, also wants to urge Russian citizens to ignore state propaganda in their country.

“People will remember our aggression for centuries,” he said.

“Everyone, Russian military men, finally take off your rose-tinted glasses and see what’s happening in Ukraine.”

Mr. Mugsad went on to apologize that “the army of the Russian Federation has brought pain and devastation, in one day robbing the peaceful life of the Ukrainian people.”

Russia has yet to respond to the press conference, which came after videos of captured soldiers expressing regret over the invasion.

The commander of the automotive division of the 126th isolated coastal defense brigade, Alexander Fomenko, called on his countrymen to start an uprising against Putin.

He said, “I asked you to drive me to the street.

“Don’t be afraid of our government. They won’t trample on the crowd.
