Russian civilians told FLEE Kherson that Ukraine is only 12 miles from retaking the city… and Putin’s men “refuse to fight”

RUSSIAN civilians have been urged to flee Kherson as Ukrainian militants are just 12 miles from retaking the occupied city.

In a sign that Ukraine’s counteroffensive is moving forward, Moscow-installed head of the annexed region Vladimir Saldo has asked Russia to help evacuate residents from across the area.

He said in a Telegram post: “We have suggested to all the people of the Kherson region that they should go to other regions if they wish to protect themselves from rocket attacks.

“Turning to the leadership of the country (Russia), I ask you to help organize this work.”

“We, the people of the Kherson region, know that Russia does not abandon its own.”

Saldo added that the region was being hit by an increasing number of rocket attacks causing “serious damage” and claimed civilian infrastructure had been attacked.

The important port city of Kherson has been occupied since the beginning of the war in February.

But while Zelenskyj’s men continue their Blitz counter-offensive, they are to narrow down on the occupied Black Sea city.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) confirmed that Russia is preparing to evacuate civilians in the Kherson region, raising the possibility that Russian troops will attempt to consolidate a new front line west of the village of Mylove after moving about 12 miles north of the Kherson sector withdrew earlier this month.

Its daily update said: “Heavy fighting continues along this line, particularly at the western end where Ukrainian advances mean Russia’s flank is no longer protected by the Inhulets River.”

“Most of the Russian troops on this front line remain low-strength VDV (airborne) units.

“In the last few days, the Russian occupation authorities have probably ordered preparations for the evacuation of some civilians from Kherson.

“It is likely that they expect the fighting to spread to the city of Kherson itself.”

The call came a day after Kyiv said it had retaken five settlements in the Kherson region.

In a humiliating blow to Putin’s invasion, Ukraine has reclaimed parts of territory in Kharkiv in recent weeks and is already closing in on Kherson.

Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin’s crumbling army is said to be refusing to fight and disobeying orders despite “extremely low morale,” reports the Kyiv Independent.

The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Russian forces received orders to halt the offensive in some frontline areas.

The reason for this is “the extremely low morale and mental state of the recruits, numerous desertions and refusal to obey combat orders.

Russian lines are set to collapse dramatically in Ukraine, with a former NATO commander claiming it could be Russia’s biggest military disaster in 100 years.

In another embarrassing blow to the Russian leader, Ukrainian forces shot down four KA-52 attack helicopters in just 18 minutes yesterday.

Ukraine’s Defense Ministry shared an image of four helicopters with the caption: “Today, in just 18 minutes, #UAarmy servicemen shot down four Russian helicopters spoiling beautiful autumn skies in southern Ukraine. There is no place for alligators here.”

General Sir Richard Shirreff said Putin’s army was on the verge of total collapse.

“I think the conditions are set for a decisive defeat by the Russian army in the parts of Ukraine that they have occupied since February 24,” he told The Sun Online.
