According to satellite imagery obtained by the Jerusalem Post, four TU-160s were sighted at the base on August 21 and three TU-95s on September 25.

But there were no strategic bombers at the airbase as of August 12 – suggesting they were recently moved there, fueling fears that Putin could unleash a nuclear Armageddon.

The bombers are believed to have been transferred to the base from Engels Air Force Base in south-west Russia – some 700 km south-east of Moscow in the Saratov Region.

ImageSat International said: “The system indicates that Engels airbase is the possible origin of the strategic bombers detected at Olenya airbase.”

The head of NATO gives the mad Putin a sharp warning of a nuclear war

Engels Air Base is home to Russia’s only strategic bombers based near Ukraine and is home to the 121st Heavy Bomber Regiment flying the TU-160 and TU-95.

According to The Drive, Putin awarded the regiment the prestigious honorary title of “Guards” for “mass heroism demonstrated by the regiment’s personnel in combat operations.”

The bombers can carry cruise missiles and strategic nuclear weapons – and have been active in the Ukraine war since Putin’s invasion in February.

It is not clear why the bombers were moved to the Olenya base, which is reported to house significant weapons including nuclear weapons.

The airbase is also believed to be safely out of reach of the Ukrainian army.

Since the Cold War era, Olenya has served as a staging area for the Russian Air Force – and would have been a base for nuclear strikes against the United States.

The mysterious bomber movement comes as Mad Vlad continues to threaten the West with the possibility of nuclear weapons being used.

On Friday, he officially annexed four regions of Ukraine that make up about 15 percent of the country – about the size of Hungary or Portugal.

The outrageous move has fueled fears he could launch a nuclear strike to protect his so-called Russian territory.

As fierce Ukrainian troops push his forces back into the country’s northeast, there are concerns the tyrant will now attempt to reframe the Blitz counteroffensive as an assault on Russia’s sovereignty.

The Kremlin said any attack on newly annexed parts of Ukraine would be considered an attack on Russia itself – adding its troops would fight to take the entire eastern Donbass region.

NATO issued a chilling warning of nuclear war after Putin’s disturbed speech on Friday plunged the world into its most dangerous moment since the Russian invasion.

Jens Stoltenberg, head of the Western military alliance, said Putin’s shameless land grab will not stop NATO from giving its “unwavering support” to Ukraine.

“Putin has mobilized hundreds of thousands more troops, engaged in irresponsible nuclear saber-rattling and is now illegally annexing more Ukrainian territory,” Stoltenberg said.

“Taken together, this represents the worst escalation since the beginning of the war.

“NATO reiterates its unwavering support for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“We remain committed to supporting Ukraine as it continues to defend itself against Russian aggression for as long as necessary.”
