Russell Brand REMOVED from BBC’s iPlayer and Sounds websites because channel content ‘falls below public expectations’

THE BBC has removed some Russell Brand content from its iPlayer and Sounds websites.

The broadcaster said the content “fell short of the public’s expectations.”

Four women came forward and accused Brand of rape and sexual assault in a revelation The timesSunday Times and Channel 4 Dispatches.

A BBC press office spokesman said: “The BBC does not ban or remove content if it is in the public domain unless we have a justification for doing so.”

“There is limited content with Russell Brand on iPlayer and Sounds.

“We have reviewed this content and made a considered decision to remove some of it as we have concluded that it now falls short of the public’s expectations.”

It is understood an episode of QI and a Joe Wicks podcast, both of which Brand appeared as a guest, have been removed.
