Roy Keane slams England for “finding a way to lose” and likens the performance to “having a foot at someone’s throat”.

ROY KEANE slammed England for “finding a way to lose” against France, using the analogy of “having your foot on someone’s neck” and slacking off.
Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions were eliminated from the World Cup in the quarter-finals in Qatar.

England lost 2-1 to France, with Harry Kane missing a late penalty, missing a chance to equalize from the penalty spot for the second time in the game.
Manchester United legend and former Ireland international Keane slammed the Southgate squad for yet another tournament failure.
He said on ITV: “What England do in a lot of these big games is they find a way to lose.”
England were beaten by Croatia in the semifinals of the 2018 World Cup.
And last summer they lost to Italy on penalties in the final of the European Championship.
Keane blamed mindset and pressure for England’s earlier mistakes.
When asked how to win tournaments, he said: “This is where the players have to take control.
“I suppose it could be a lack of experience in big tournaments and big games, I know a lot of the England players have won trophies at club level.

“When we were at the France game the other night, I describe when you’re in that position and you have your foot on someone’s throat, you have to push down. Don’t let up.
“When you relieve a good team like France and they have quality in the quarter-finals, they get punished for it as soon as they let up.”
Southgate will decide his future in England with the FA keen to keep him in charge.
Ex-Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel and ex-Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino are among the foreigners linked with the role.
But the FA would like to keep an England manager, with Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard also in the frame.
Although Neville, who has represented England at two World Cups, wants Southgate to stay.
He said: “I absolutely believe he should continue.”
