Demonstrations followed Canadian “model”

“They’re definitely going to follow the Canadian model and shut down Washington,” a DHS official said in February of America’s Freedom Convoy, referring to earlier protests around Ottawa, Canada.

This protest drew hundreds of truckers and others to Ottawa, according to reports Yahoo News.

The demonstration disrupted traffic throughout the Canadian capital, prompting the mayor to declare a state of emergency.

Protesters blocked traffic in both directions along the Ambassador Bridge, which connects Windsor, Ontario Detroit, Michand closed one of the busiest international border crossings between Canada and the United States.
