Rotary Club of Lehigh Acres hosts Christmas meal

It’s the season of giving and the Lehigh Acres Rotary Club is continuing to give back by hosting an annual Christmas dinner.

The dinner will be held at Saint Raphael Catholic Church at 2514 Lee Blvd.

The Rotary Club will be serving a traditional Christmas dinner that includes all the side dishes, including ham, mashed potatoes, and chickpeas.

They will also have dessert.

On Thanksgiving, they served around 620 meals, a mix of takeout and dinner.

This year they are expecting a similar turnout but we are prepared to serve over 700 meals.

Hope those who are on holiday alone can take advantage of it.

“We have a lot of single people or older people who may not have large families or families that don’t live in the area. They come to enjoy, they come with their friends, they come alone. We have a group of volunteers, which is great. We tell our volunteers if you see someone sitting down to dinner alone, take a break, sit down and have a chat with them,” said Fred Elliot, Lehigh Club community dinner president Acres Rotary said.

Meals will be served at 11am and until 1pm
