Ron Cephas Jones appeared to be in good spirits during one of his last public appearances before his shocking death.
The Emmy winner is best known for his role as William Hill on the NBC series This Is Us.
The Drama Desk winner was 66.
Ron was last seen smiling at the 2022 Tony Awards where he was nominated for an award for his performance in Clyde’s on Broadway.
He looked healthy and very different from Randall Pearson’s (Sterling K. Brown) aged father.
Ron wore a smart light gray tuxedo with a white shirt and black bow tie.
His hair was freshly cut and he wore black glasses.
Ron died of complications from a long-standing lung condition, a representative for the actor confirmed to PEOPLE in a statement on Saturday.
The statement read: “Beloved and award-winning actor Ron Cephas Jones has passed away at the age of 66 from a long-standing lung condition.
“Throughout his career, everyone who was lucky enough to know him felt his warmth, beauty, generosity, kindness and heart,” the statement continued.
Several tributes poured in as a fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote: “Aaaaw man! Rest peacefully, Ron Cephas Jones.”
Best known for his role as William Hill on This Is Us, Jones has won an Emmy throughout his acting career.
