THE Rolling Stones are the latest major donors to help suffering Ukrainians.

Core members Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood declined to disclose the amount but the DEC called it “generous”.

The appeal, in support of various charities including ActionAid, was established to help Ukrainian civilians affected by Russia.

The rock royal has now joined the Queen, Prince Charles and Prince William in contributing.

The Stones, who announced their 60th anniversary tour this week, will play three days in the UK in June.

DEC CEO Saleh Saeed said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Rolling Stones and everyone who has donated and raised funds for our call.

“So far, the appeal has raised a staggering £175m.”

Ministers say thousands more are signing up every hour, while Prime Minister Boris Johnson has praised their generous efforts.

Supermarket Aldi said yesterday it will provide 8,000 jobs for refugees.

And former Prime Minister Theresa May has called on the Border Force to ensure that traffickers do not take advantage of the situation to make money.

“It’s a sad reflection of human nature,” she said.
