BRENDAN RODGERS watched his Leicester plummet in Europe’s third division and admitted: “I don’t even know what the opponent is.”
Rodgers slammed his Foxes when they 3-2 defeat to Napoli ended their Europa League campaign and included them in the Europa Conference League.
The Leicester boss said: “I have to be honest – I don’t even know what the competition is about in all fairness.
“I was focused on the Europa League and winning this group.
“At the very least, coming in second so with all due respect to the competition, I’m not sure what that is. I’m sure I’ll find out soon. ”
Leicester’s night got off to a bad start after 600 fans made the trip to the match 20 minutes late after a police escort went in the wrong direction only to find their team trailing 2-0.
Rodgers’ side fought back before half-time was over before conceding again in the second half.
And there was a final twist in the story when Legia Warsaw missed a crucial penalty in stoppage time eight minutes against Spartak Moscow, which Leicester should have finished second in the table.
And Rodgers, 48, of Northern Ireland, insisted: “There is a lot of innocence in our team and we have a lot of young players.
“We personally then have that mentality to follow our runners or to stop a cross.

“Tonight we attacked well but defended not well enough.
“I told the players [at half-time] if we can close the gaps and take the bad side of the game.
“We need to be more aggressive, the second goal we jump at the wrong time and that opens up space and for the third you have to follow the runner and block the cross.
“These are the basics of the game that we don’t do too well.”
