Rod, whose real name is Rodarius Green, was due to release his album on April 3.

A week later, however, it still hasn’t appeared on his Spotify profile and isn’t available to buy through retailers like Amazon.

On May 22, the 22-year-old posted a clip of himself scrolling through comments from Twitter users asking for the album release.

“Sorry 4 da Wait,” he said in the clip, along with a heartbroken emoji.

Fans flooded the posts with comments expressing their frustration.

“Man you got the whole world releasing this album,” one fan wrote.

Another fan slammed him for not dropping it: “Rodarius I’m getting very impatient.”

Although a reason for the album not being released on time has not been publicly disclosed by the rapper, fans deduce that it is likely due to his recent arrest.

WHERE’S THE ALBUM?

After the album failed to release on its original date and then again a week later, fans are furious that they don’t have the new music.

They took to Twitter to express their anger.

“I’m so mad at this Rod Wave I needed this tape,” one fan tweeted.

“What are you doing @rodwave drop that s**t my love lol,” tweeted another.

A fan replied to them, saying he told his followers on Instagram last week that he wouldn’t post it because someone hadn’t erased a record.

One confused fan wrote: “I thought RodWave was supposed to have an album out today. What’s happening @rodwave?

“Idk who lied to the internet and said the Rod Wave album was dropping today but that was a big cap!” said another fan.

One emotional Twitter user said: “Where’s the Rod Wave album? I try to stare out the window with tears in my eyes.”

One fan tweeted a crying emoji along with, “umm where is the album @rodwave I woke up happy for nun.”

“Rod brushes me off as he always says he finally dropped some new shit and it took him 50 years,” said another.

Other fans said he had some explaining to do and they waited impatiently.

HIS ARREST

Rod was initially arrested on a felony battery charge by strangulation – related to allegations by his ex-girlfriend.

However, the case was dropped two weeks later after his attorney called the alleged incident a “misunderstanding.”

At the time, Rod Wave’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, told Rolling Stone: “This case was a misunderstanding between a girlfriend and a boyfriend.

“This misunderstanding led to the arrest of Mr. Green.”

Police officers responded to 911 calls at a woman’s home on April 24 and said she had claimed the rapper trespassed on her property.

She claimed he had become “physically aggressive,” according to the affidavit cited by the Tampa Bay Times.

The affidavit claimed the rapper choked the woman until she could not breathe.

The alleged incident happened while her two children were at home.

He reportedly left the house before returning a second time.

The statement claimed he took two pictures off the wall and threw them onto the porch and sidewalk.

And the woman reportedly had a scratch “near the middle of her neck.”

Rod was taken into custody and released on May 3 on $5,000 bail.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges and the case has since been dropped, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

The rapper was also arrested in 2014 for burglary, but the charges were dropped at the time.

His rap career began in 2016 when he released his mixtape Hunger Games Volume 1.

Rod’s popularity increased even further when he released his album Soulfly in 2021.
