De Niro confirmed he was “okay” after suspect Shanice Aviles allegedly broke into his home while he and his daughter slept upstairs.
“I’m fine,” he told a New York Post reporter Monday night.
The 79-year-old actor wore a beanie, glasses and a face mask and was dressed for the weather, sporting pants, a sweater, scarf and jacket, as he left his home in New York City.
The actor appears to be gearing up for Christmas and received several food deliveries on Monday, including sushi from Nobu and desserts from Dominique Ansel Bakery, according to photographers.

Aviles, who has been arrested on 26 counts including 16 burglaries and petty thefts, was arrested for breaking into De Niro’s home, according to ABC7.
The NYPD said they saw Aviles enter De Niro’s basement at 3 a.m. Monday morning and followed her inside, where they allegedly saw her browsing through gifts under the Christmas tree.
De Niro then came down the stairs as police confronted the suspect.
Police didn’t know they were at De Niro’s home until the confrontation was over.
Aviles was charged with burglary and was released on bail on Tuesday morning.
