“Buccaneers fans, the Krewe, none of this is possible without you, you all brought it to every game, thank you for everything you do,” Gronkowski continued Twitter.

“Cheers to what’s next, maybe we’ll sail the seas,” he said with a skull and crossbones flag emoji. “Arghhhhh!!”

The four-time Super Bowl champion opened up about how he’s dreamed of playing for the Bucs since he was in college.

A jubilant gronk expressed how his time in Tampa “blew far away what he originally wrote about in college.”

“And for that, I want to thank the entire First Class Buccaneers organization for an amazing ride, trusting me to come back to play and help build a championship team,” Gronk wrote.

“I will now return to my retirement home and walk away from football again with my head held high, knowing that I have given everything I had, good or bad, every time I stepped onto the field.

“The friendships and relationships I’ve formed will last forever and I appreciate each and every one of my teammates and coaches for giving their all as well.”

Gronkowski first announced his retirement from the New England Patriots in 2019 at the age of 29.

“It really was an incredible honor to play for such a great established organization and to be able to carry on and contribute to continued success,” said the player in 2019.

“Cheers to all who have been a part of this journey, cheers to the past for the incredible memories and a HUGE cheers to the uncertainty of what’s next.”

The 33-year-old tight end came out of his retirement in 2019 to join the Buccs for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

Despite the recent news of his retirement, Gronkowski’s agent told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that he wouldn’t be surprised if his client could be lured out of retirement a second time by Buccs quarterback Tom Brady.

Gronk won all of his Super Bowls alongside Brady in New England and Tampa Bay.

He is the second key member of the Buccaneers offense to retire this year, after guard Ali Marpet, who retired in February.

Brady initially announced his retirement in February, only to quit less than two months later.

The NFL legend announced his comeback on Twitter on March 13 with an emotional message that mentioned his family and teammates.

“In the last two months it has become clear to me that my place is still on the field and not in the stands,” he wrote.

“That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates and I love my supportive family.”
