‘Riverdale’ Season 6 return delayed two weeks to March 20

You should plan to come back Riverdale a little later than expected.

The CW announced on Friday that Riverdale will now not resume Season 6 until Sunday, March 20 – two weeks later than originally planned.

The delay was triggered by the pandemic-related rescheduling of the Critics Choice Awards, which was originally held in January but will now take place on Sunday, March 13 and air on The CW.

Riverdale in mid-November opened Season 6 with a five-week “RiverVale” event, featuring a (transient) crossover from Kiernan Shipka’s Sabrina Spellman (of Netflix’s now-closely departed) The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina). It looks like The Flash (started its own season with the 5-week “Armageddon” event), then began a month-long hiatus.

The Flash will resume season eight on Wednesday, March 9 at 8 p.m. Arrowverse vets’ first time change when – where it will lead to the Season 2 premiere of Kung Fu. Riverdale meanwhile will be back on Sunday, March 20 at 8/7c.
