Riot cops ‘injured with a chair hit to the head’ as West Ham descend into chaos against Anderlecht

POLICE officers were reportedly injured as fans ripped up seats, hurled rockets and threw flares to throw West Ham’s clash with Anderlecht into chaos.

Riot police intervened to separate rival supporters during unsavory scenes towards the end of the Hammers’ 2-1 Europa Conference League win.

One officer was hit in the head by a chair.

And another suffered an arm injury as there was trouble as Belgium gave hope with a late penalty.

Two torches are believed to have been thrown.

Some West Ham fans chanted “Come on you Irons” as they watched the angry scenes.
