Richard Sherman had Seattle Seahawks flashbacks about ex-teammate Russell Wilson throwing the ball to pick up a yard

RICHARD SHERMAN had some serious Super Bowl flashbacks Thursday night.

The former Seattle Seahawk watched the Denver Broncos lose 12-9 to the Indianapolis Colts in overtime.

Sherman used to play with Denver quarterback Russell Wilson in Seattle.

The pair won a Super Bowl together but also lost one to the New England Patriots in Arizona.

In that February 2015 showdown, Seattle needed a yard to score a go-ahead touchdown against New England.

Instead of passing the ball to running back Marshawn Lynch, they tried throwing for it.

And Wilson was picked up by Malcolm Butler in a game that sealed Super Bowl glory for the Patriots.

In Thursday night’s game, Denver needed just one yard to convert a 4th and 1 late.

Wilson dropped back to overtake but failed to connect and the ride was over.

Sherman was clearly annoyed while speaking on Amazon Prime Video’s postgame show.

The former defender said: “You need a yard. You need a yard. Lead the ball. Lead the ball.

“All he has to do is lead the football.”

Wilson left Seattle during the offseason to join the Denver Broncos in a mega trade.

Sherman recently took a shot at his former teammate on a podcast.

Denver lost on Monday Night Football earlier this season after a clock management issue left them facing a 64-yard field goal.

ESPN broadcaster and NFL star Peyton Manning urged them to take some time off and try to get closer.

But the 64-yard field goal was missed and Denver was beaten by Seattle.

Sherman said, “You could see Peyton Manning say ‘timeout, timeout.’

“Do you know the difference between Russell Wilson and Peyton Manning?

“Russell doesn’t have the power to take this time out without the touchline.

“Peyton Manning can take this time out without a sideline. He’s the coach on the field. He has that respect.

“Certain quarterbacks blame the coach. Certain quarterbacks blame the quarterback.

“And if it was one of those quarterbacks, you don’t talk about the coach. You’re like, ‘Why didn’t Peyton just take time off?’”
