RHOC star officially splits from husband of 8 years after brief reconciliation

REAL Housewives of Orange County star Jen Armstrong has officially split from her husband Ryne Holliday.

She briefly reconciled with her husband of eight years before filing for legal separation.

Jen filed for separation from Ryne on May 13, according to court documents.

However, she gave the date as September 8, 2021, meaning they broke up briefly after filming.

The plastic surgeon cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their separation.

She is filing for custody of their three children and wants Ryne to have visitation rights.

However, Jen wants the court to end support for her and Ryne.

They married in November 2013 after fans first met the couple on Season 16 of RHOC.

dr Jen and Ryne had “broke up and lived separate lives for a while,” according to US Weekly.

“And I think that led to us having more appreciation for who the other person was and a different attitude towards getting back together and putting in the work to stay together.”

A SHORT PART

Jen admitted she didn’t like letting cameras into their relationship.

The brief split came after she addressed cracks in her marriage.

They reunited for a while because things “got a lot better” after a corner, but then deteriorated.

“We had a challenging relationship and people can be very judgmental. A lot of people came up and said, ‘Oh, you deserve better. How do you let him treat you like that?’ But they’re not in everyday life, they don’t know the history,” she said.

“I would say the show threw a magnifying glass on what was going on in our marriage, which we had ignored for so many years when we were both unhappy.”

The Armstrong MD founder told Page Six that the last straw came after she and Ryne “fought over a mutual lack of appreciation for their different roles in raising their children.”

She also said the month-long split was her idea after the pair “reached a point where there was nothing more to do.”

SELL YOUR HOUSE

Jen wanted a fresh start, so in March she sold her $6 million Newport Beach mansion.

The mansion had five bedrooms and three bathrooms and spanned more than 3,000 square feet.

The house is a one level property with spacious living and dining areas.

But the best thing about the villa is the view of the Pacific Ocean.

The house was introduced in Season 16 of RHOC.

“Though we’re sad to be giving up the home we just remodeled, we thought it was the perfect time to return to my childhood neighborhood that was always my dream,” Jen told the outlet.

She wanted to settle elsewhere in Orange County.

dr Jen and Ryne have three children together – twins Vera and Vince, 10, and Robert, 9.

News of their split comes as Bravo has yet to confirm the season 17 cast.
