The Doctor Is Out: HBO’s Resurgence About In the treatment will not return for another season.
The network’s chief content officer Casey Bloys confirmed the news to our sister site Diversity, explaining that the revival “is really a response when we talk about the pandemic and how you shoot… what kind of self-produced shows. Then from that conversation came In the treatment and White Lotus. And I think working with Uzo [Aduba] is a big one there, and that’s great, but no plans to continue doing it. “
Emmy Award winner Uzo Aduba stars in the revival as psychotherapist Dr Brooke Taylor, who viewed three patients on a rotating basis, with each focusing on a single session . Anthony Ramos plays Patient Eladio, a home nurse struggling with insomnia; John Benjamin Hickey plays patient Colin, a bad tech executive fresh out of prison; and Quintessa Swindell play teenage patient Laila, who is sent to Brooke by her grandmother after learning Laila is a lesbian. The fourth episode of the series follows Brooke’s own story and her check-in tour with her sobriety coach.
The revival – billed as the series’ fourth season, after three seasons led by Gabriel Byrne that aired from 2008 to 2010 – debuted last May, airing four episodes a week until the end of the day. June 28. Aduba earned an Emmy nomination last year for best actress in a television series.
