TEXAS representative Van Taylor has apologized for “deeply hurt” when his affair with notorious ISIS bride Tania Joya was revealed, forcing him to give up his re-election bid.

In an email to her supporters, Taylor addressed the incident and decided to suspend her campaign to run for re-election in the United States. Texas‘Third Congressional District.

“I announce today that I will not be running for re-election to Congress,” Taylor wrote.

“About a year ago, I made a terrible mistake that caused profound hurt and pain to the people I love most in the world.”

“I had an affair, it was a mistake, and it was the biggest failure of my life.”

“I would like to apologize for the pain I have caused with my carelessness, above all to my wife, Anne and our three daughters.

“For months, Anne and I have worked to repair the scars left by my actions. I don’t deserve it, but eternally grateful for her love and forgiveness.”

Taylor sought re-election after serving two terms.

He and Tania Joya is said to have met in 2019 through her work to help extremists who have just been released from prison get back into society.

Joya, whose marriage to an American joined the highly publicized Islamic State, reportedly approached the third candidate in the Texas congressional race, Suzanne Harp, to warn her. about love just last week.

Joya is married to John Georgelas, a native of Plano who became a fighter for ISIS. Georgelas was an American convert to Islam who became one of the group’s leading fighters.

The two were married until he was killed in Syria in 2017. She then moved to Texas and received remarried to IT executive Craig Bruma.
