MUSTANG, Texas (KXAN) – A small town about an hour southeast of Dallas that is said to belong to billionaire Mark Cuban.
NS Dallas Morning News on Thursday that the owner of the Dallas Mavericks purchased the community of Mustang, Texas, in Navarro County. The town is estimated to have about two dozen residents, and the only businesses there have a mobile home park and a strip club.
Cuban told the Dallas newspaper he bought the property to help a friend and said he doesn’t know what he’ll do with it yet.
Online reports suggest the town was sold in 2017 for $4 million, although it is unknown how much Cubans paid to the community.
Nexstar’s KXAN reached out to Cuban Thursday afternoon for comment on the reported purchase and his plans for the community, but he did not respond prior to the announcement.
Earlier this year, a small town in Tennessee formerly known as Water Valley was for sale for only $725,000. Located about an hour southwest of Nashville, Water Valley sits on a seven-acre site and has an estimated population of 20, according to listing agent.
