According to those documents, between 2009 and 2019, the MPD’s Disciplinary Review Division requested termination of at least 24 officers accused of criminal misconduct. In all but three of those cases, an Adverse Action Panel composed of three senior officers ensured defendants kept their jobs. One member of that panel, Robert J. Contee, has served as MPD chief since early 2021.
Disclosurereport of the claim that the document describes how Officer Ronald Faunteroy, a 20-year veteran of the force, followed OpenPayrolls.com, solicited sex from a pair of DC prostitutes, threatened them with Glock about his department issue, and then lied about it to the home affairs officer who questioned him. In the end, the documents say, Faunteroy admitted to all the charges, but instead of being fired, he was simply demoted. The Adverse Action Committee saved his job. He was promoted back to his original position.
The report also stated that, of the seven police officers scheduled to be fired due to domestic abuse, the jury kept six of them from being fired.
