Reinhart, Panthers Hand Canucks ‘Boudreau First Loss Not OT – CBS Miami

SUNRISE (AP) – Sam Reinhart had two goals and one assist and the Florida Panthers handed Vancouver Canucks coach Bruce Boudreau his first regulation loss in 10 games with a 5-2 win on the night. Tuesday.

Boudreau is 8-0-1 since taking over at the Canucks on December 6. Vancouver is 8-15-2 when he replaces Travis Green.

Taking a 2-1 lead, the Panthers scored two goals 26 seconds apart in the second half. Huberdeau’s power play gave the Panthers a 3-1 lead at 8:46, and Mamin’s goal extended the Panthers’ lead to 4-1.

Barkov scored a short-handed goal in a breakthrough with 59.4 left in the second.

Ekblad gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead when his shot from just inside the blue line beat Demko on the glove at 5:18 of the first half.

Reinhart’s goal at 1:08 later – a shot from blue range by Radko Gudas – made it 2-0.

Dickinson closed the Canucks 2-1 when his shot from the left circle was hit by Bobrovsky with 8:29 left in the first half.

NEW FRIENDS

There have been five coach changes this season in the NHL, and this match marked the first time that two substitute coaches have gone head-to-head, with Florida interim coach Andrew Brunette for with Boudreau.

NOTE: Brunette will coach the Atlantic Division All-Star Team at the 2022 NHL All-Star Weekend in Las Vegas from February 4 to 5. … Tuesday’s game came exactly two years and two days after the appearance.
