Northern MPs called on Mr Johnson to cut environmental taxes – which are driving up electricity bills by 25 per cent.
VAT and tariffs should be reduced on fuel to help Brits bang around at the pumps, they added.
They urged No10 to open a proposed mine in Cumbria to wean the nation off Chinese coal and boost British steel jobs.
Red Wall poster girl Dehenna Davison said: “I think an easy cost of living gain in the short term is reducing environmental taxes and reducing VAT on energy bills.
“We know it’s a small contribution, but it’s something.
“But the bigger thing I’m pushing for is lowering VAT on fuel as a short-term measure – six months, 12 months – just to ease that pressure on the cost of living.”
At its Doncaster meeting, the Northern Research Group also presented its mini-manifesto on promoting growth.
Her boss, Jake Berry, called for a total tax cut.
Red Wall MPs accused No 10 of “lying” to them by insisting Boris planned to attend even after knowing he was going to Kyiv.
A Red Wall MP said it was a “fucking thing”.
