However, the Belgian didn’t take the abuse.

As he went for the ball from close range after a massive save against Marc Cucurella, Courtois was seen kissing the Real Madrid crest in front of the Chelsea fans.

Footie fans rushed online to share their thoughts on the act.

Chelsea fans were understandably not too pleased as some fans dubbed him a ‘snake’.

One fan said: “All I know is that karma is real. You shouldn’t have done that.”

On the other hand, the rivals’ fans loved the act.

One said: “Nah, that’s another level of disrespect 😭.”

As a second said: “Tears in my eyes 😭😭.”

A third declared: “Best goalkeeper in the world. THE BELGIAN WALL.”

After Cucurella’s save, Chelsea were unsuccessful for the rest of the evening and Mykhailo Mudryk’s attempt, when he missed, was their only other major chance.

But a brace from Rodrygo in the second half would put the icing on the cake for Carlo Ancelotti to ensure they progress to the semis on a 4-0 aggregate score.

In the other semi-final, AC Milan defeated Napoli 2-1 on aggregate.
