Real Madrid flop Luka Jovic finally ends the Fiorentina transfer nightmare with a two-year deal as West Ham are sidelined

LUKA JOVIC is reportedly set to join Fiorentina on a two-year deal.

The 24-year-old striker signed for Real Madrid three years ago in a huge £52million move from Eintracht Frankfurt.

But he failed to impress, scoring just three goals in 51 games for Los Blancos.

As a result, the club have decided to sack him on a free transfer despite three years left on his contract.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio RomanoFiorentina have agreed to sign Jovic on a permanent basis.

The two clubs had initially discussed a loan deal but Real Madrid opted to negotiate a 50 per cent resale clause instead.

Jovic is expected to undergo a medical this week before completing the move, which will see him sign until June 2024 with an option for two more years.

Fiorentina see the striker as a perfect replacement for Dusan Vlahovic, who joined Juventus in January.

The Italian side fended off competition from West Ham for his signature.

David Moyes is currently on the hunt for a new striker to challenge Mikhail Antonio in attack.

Chelsea’s Armando Broja is a top transfer target right now but could cost around £30m.

West Ham have also been heavily linked with free agent Jesse Lingard.

The midfielder enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Hammers in the second half of the 2020-21 season.
