Raven Software QA Officer to petition NLRB for Coalition to vote after Activision Blizzard Snub
Raven Software QA testers will formalize their alliance without Activision Blizzard’s recognition.
Prominent QA employees from Raven Software filed for union elections with the National Labor Relations Board after Activision Blizzard ignored their request to be recognized as a union. As reported by Washington Post, Activision Blizzard has set a deadline of 6pm EST on January 25th for official recognition Recently established game workers union (GWA) as a union, a deadline passed without word from the publisher.
As such, the GWA is currently trying to formalize the alliance without Activision Blizzard’s recognition through the NLRB, which the team was able to do due to the majority of Raven Software’s QA department. By winning a 50 percent +1 majority, the vote will force Activision Blizzard to discuss working conditions as well as other GWA requirements that can be found on Game Workers Union Twitter account.
In a statement from Activision Blizzard following the GWA’s petition with the NLRB – shared by Polygon reporter Nicole Carpenter – the publisher stated that it had attempted to “find a mutually acceptable solution”. received” with the company Raven Software to “promote the election”, but could not be achieved. a consent.
