Dr. Narayan Das Inkhiya was named by Indian media as the person who found the egg.
He is said to have dug at a hilly site in Jethwai-Gajroop Sagar in Jaisalmer, India.
According to NDTV, he said: “This could well be a dinosaur egg fossil that is almost 180 million years old.”
“It was discovered in this area of Jaislamer, where the fossil of a herbivorous dinosaur was also found in 2018.”

The herbivorous dinosaur in question dates back to 167 million.
It was a major discovery as the species was previously undiscovered.
The new species was called Tharosaurus Indicus and would have been large and had a long tail.
It is unclear whether the discovery of the fossilized egg is related to the herbivorous dinosaur.
According to India Today, Dr. Inkhiya a senior groundwater scientist.
He plans to hand over the egg fossil to the Geological Survey of India (GSI).
Experts will then be able to do carbon dating and figure out where it came from.
They may also be able to figure out what kind of creature the egg produced.
Dr. Inkhiya suspects that the egg could have come from any dinosaur from that time.
He says the fossil is about an inch long and weighs about 100 grams.
