RALF RANGNICK is switching to a 4-2-2-2 formation and switching to Jadon Sancho on the wing after Manchester United failed to adapt to his preferred formation.
The Old Trafford side will temporarily use 4-3-3 from now on after being frustrated by inconsistent performances, with four wins and one defeat in its eight matches.
And although he is beating United 2-0 on Saturday, he will stick with the shape he has deployed in it. 2-2 Premier League draw against Aston Villa.
Rangnick also wants England player Sancho to improve and replicate his form at Borussia Dortmund, starting at Brentford in Prem on Wednesday night.
“We have now decided to play 4-3-3 like we did with Aston Villa, with a six-man, two-eight and three attacking players,” said the German.
“Clearly in a 4-3-3, he (Sancho) is a player for either wing, left or right, he can play both.
“I think he’ll like a little bit to the left, because then he can move inside and shoot on goal with his strong right foot.
“But for me there is no question of his position.
“He’s a winger, as we say in Germany, someone who can dribble quickly and for me there’s no question about the best possible position for him.
“But again, it’s not just about training at the highest possible level.

And even though they have only conceded six goals in eight games, they still struggle to achieve consistency and fluency.
He said last week: “For me, the squad is a means to an end, it’s a tool.
“Of course, in my opinion, this squad has to match the players you have available.
“In the long run, it’s good to have a squad or a style of play,”
