Good morning tennis fans

The Australian Open is in full swing with matches taking place from Day 7 of the first major tournament of the year.

Former world No 1 and tournament No 6 seed Rafael Nadal advanced to the 5th round overnight with a win over Spain’s Adrian Mannarino.

And sixth seed Alexander Zverev also passed the match after defeating 13th seed Denis Shapovalov.

In the draw Women’s World No. 1 and local hero Ashleigh Barty will soon compete in round 4, when she takes on Amanda Anisimova at around 8am this morning (UK time).

Elsewhere, Novak Djokovic WILL be allowed to play at the French Open in June, regardless of his vaccination status.

According to La Gazzetta, via Express, France’s latest Covid-19 rules will allow him to participate because those who have recovered from Covid-19 in the last six months are issued Covid passports by the French government.

And when Roland Garros starts on May 22, Djokovic’s positive test in mid-December will allow him to join.
