“The Admiral Gorshkov frigate will be the first to go into combat duty with these impressive weapons on board,” Putin said on Sunday during a military parade celebrating the Russian Navy.
“The most important thing here is the efficiency of the Russian Navy … It is capable of reacting at lightning speed to anyone who decides to violate our sovereignty and freedom.”
Putin made no reference to Ukraine in his speech, but said he had no problem with the devastating missiles being used to defend Moscow’s interests around the world.
Russia tested its Zircon missile in May and fired the “unstoppable” weapon from the Barents Sea. The missile hit a target at a distance of 625 miles in the White Sea.

The warhead has been hailed by state-controlled Moscow television as Putin’s weapon of choice to wipe out American cities in the event of a nuclear conflict.
The Zircon missile is believed to be able to hit targets 620 miles away and fly at speeds of 7,000 miles per hour, although there are unconfirmed reports that its true range is around 1,200 miles.
At this speed, it could reach London in five minutes.
It will be used first by Russian frigates and later by submarines.
It comes as Russian Navy Day celebrations at the port of Sevastopol in Crimea were canceled after reports of a “homemade drone strike” on the country’s Black Sea Fleet headquarters that left six injured, according to the pro -Russian Mayor Mikhail Razvozhaev.
He said on Telegram: “An unidentified object flew into the yard of the fleet headquarters.
“According to preliminary information, it is a drone.”
He said all celebrations had been canceled “for security reasons”.
Kyiv denies any responsibility, claiming instead that Moscow staged the attack.
“The liberation of our Crimea from the occupiers will be different and much more effective,” said Sergey Bratchuk, spokesman for the Odessa military administration
Putin delivered his speech aboard a Raptor-class patrol ship on the Neva River in St. Petersburg.
The deranged tyrant also signed a 55-page naval doctrine outlining Russia’s broad strategic goals at sea and its ambitions as a “great naval power.”
The doctrine claimed that the main threats to Russia were “the US strategic police for dominating the world’s oceans” and the NATO alliance’s rapprochement with Russia’s borders.
Putin told his armed forces they could use the missiles should diplomatic and economic tools be exhausted, hinting that Moscow may be ready to use the new Zircon missiles to defend its maritime borders.
Navy Day is an annual Russian holiday when its fleets hold naval parades and honor its sailors.
