Vertonghen joined Anderlecht on a free transfer in September 2022 after spending two years working at Portuguese giants Benfica, who he signed for after leaving Tottenham in 2020.
The video on the club’s YouTube channel shows the discussions that take place between the players as soon as they step onto the pitch.
In a clip from the video, the 35-year-old shakes hands with former Spurs team-mate Toby Alderweireld, who was captain of the Antwerp side.
He can be heard saying, “Ready mate? Warriors.”
In another clip, Vertonghen has a team chat with his teammates and emphasizes the importance of the duel.
He says: “Guys, feel this atmosphere, that’s what we’re here for, that’s why we became footballers.
“Win your first contact, I don’t give a damn how.
“Let them know you’re there and let’s win this game. Come on!”

Throughout the video, the defender can be heard calling for the ball and barking commands to his teammates.
A free kick for Antwerp can be heard trying to prevent his players from being scared of scoring the ball.
He shouted, “Hey in the face, take it in the face, come on.”
The veteran defender also demonstrated his ability to teach others on the pitch.
He had already made a number of successful runs with the ball through opposition midfield and instructed his 19-year-old defensive partner Zeno Debast to do the same.
He said: “Now if they start marking me because I did two dribbles, you just do the same.
“You know, Bam, get in there.”
“That winger is always coming in so just look the other side or keep going, keep going, keep going.

“Hey play! Great, easy now, ball out, ball out. We have to throw the ball out.”
Anderlecht are currently ninth in the league table as they have struggled to play their best this season.
