PSG want Marcus Rashford to replace Mbappe but Pochettino could try to move if he becomes coach’

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN is said to want to sign Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford in the summer as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe.

The French forward, 23, has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid as he nears the end of his contract at the Parc des Princes.

Rashford is also facing an uncertain future with the 24-year-old claiming to be considering a move following a lack of game time.

Several clubs will be willing to award prizes for the England international to leave Old Trafford if he is available.

And according to the Daily Mail, PSG are looking to test United’s resolve on the player if Mbappe leaves on a free transfer.

They say it remains to be seen whether the Reds academy graduate will sign a new deal at the Theater of Dreams with his current contract set to expire in 2023.

Although United have the option of extending his stay at the club by a year.

The newspaper adds that Les Parisiens gaffer Mauricio Pochettino is a huge fan of Rashford.

It has been said how Pochettino tried to sign him last summer, but United have no intention of selling him.

The Mail also claim that the former Tottenham manager will look to keep Rashford at United if he succeeds Ralf Rangnick as manager at the end of the campaign.

And if Pochettino moves to Old Trafford, this could convince Rashford to stay at the club.

As well as Rashford, Cristiano Ronaldo’s future is also up in the air after he was left out of the squad for Sunday’s game against Manchester City.

His teammates were then shocked when he failed to show up for a club meal on Saturday – with his absence attributed to a hip flexor problem.
