PSG take ‘formal transfer approach’ for Leeds star Kalvin Phillips and could ‘triple’ £55m wages for midfielder

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN has been linked with a shock to Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips.
We reported this week that Manchester City are ready to step up their pursuit of the 26-year-old midfielder.

Pep Guardiola’s Premier League champions this week officially announced the arrival of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
They have now turned their attention to securing the services of the England star and want that to be completed before they head to America for next month’s pre-season tour.
Phillips has been on international duty since helping Leeds survive in the top flight but has now headed off on his summer holidays after Tuesday’s dismal 4-0 Nations League defeat by Hungary.
City will now officially approach Leeds after retiring from England.

However, the Daily Mirror have now claimed that PSG Leeds have ‘made a formal approach’.
They have contacted the Premier League outfit to find out how much they want for the Elland Road Academy graduate.
It also adds that the Ligue 1 titleholders know a £55m offer for Leeds could be too much to resist.
And it says that “Phillips knows he’s guaranteed Champions League football and can triple his wages to £200,000 a week” at Parc des Princes.

The ace has two years left on his contract at Leeds.
And they could potentially force him to watch the rest — or at least one more season.
City boss Guardiola is looking for a replacement for veteran Fernandinho after the Brazilian left after nine years at Etihad.
Guardiola and City sporting director Txiki Begiristain consider him “ideal” for them and have sent scouts to him on several occasions this season.
Manchester United also want the ace – but Phillips has reportedly told his nearest and dearest that he cannot move to Old Trafford due to the bitter rivalry between them and his boyhood club Leeds.
