Prosecutors say the case against main suspect Madeleine McCann is NOT willing to ‘break his alibi’

LAWYERS have denied allegations that the case against Madeleine McCann suspect Christian B is about to fall after British investigators accused him of having an alibi.
A team led by a former detective claimed to have spotted the sex predator, 44, “30 minutes” from the resort in Praia da Luz, Portugal when Madeleine disappeared.
Details of its probe will be available in the Channel 5 documentary Madeleine McCann: Investigating a Key Suspect that airs this spring.
It is set to break the case against Christian B, who is being held in Germany, where authorities say he killed her.
Phone records are said to show him near the scene on the night she went missing in 2007.
But the new investigation, led by former Surrey Police detective Mark Williams-Thomas, is said to provide an alibi for B “to superimpose”.
But German authorities have denied the claims.
Prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters told Daily Mirror: “If I had an alibi and was charged with this, I would say it. But I have not heard such claims from [Christian B] or his attorney. ”
The TV team, who spent months in Portugal and Germany, found new witnesses in both countries who made him suspect guilt.
A source said: ‘They concluded B couldn’t take Madeleine. He was there for 30 minutes and didn’t answer the phone in Praia da Luz the night she disappeared.”
Last year, a friend of the convicted pedophile gave him an alibi.
But she later told a German newspaper that she couldn’t remember if she was him the night Madeleine disappeared.
German prosecutors hope to charge 45-year-old Christian B with the 2004 rape of a 20-year-old Irish waitress in the Portuguese Algarve.
He was jailed for the horrific rape of a pensioner in Praia da Luz in 2005.
But he denied involvement in Madeleine’s disappearance and refused to speak to investigators.
