Progress for the second part

Cheer season 2 premieres on Netflix on Wednesday, January 12.

It’s been two years since we last saw the Navarro College cheerleaders and their head coach Monica Aldama. A lot has happened during that time, from the scandal involving Navarro cheerleader Jerry Harris to the pandemic that is still raging in the United States and around the world.

The effect of current events on the team is evident in the second season of Cheer as the cheerleaders prepare for the NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheerleading and Dance Championships and rookies vie for a spot on the carpet.

Process for Cheer However, season 2 may be confusing for some viewers as the latest installment of this corpus actually covers two years instead of one like the first one. This is why the second season has an extended timeline.

Cheer season 2 timeline

Based on Popsugar, filming on season 2 began in January 2020 in the same month that the previous season began streaming and gained a lot of followers. However, due to COVID-19 and the cancellation of the 2020 NCA & NDA Cheer & Dance Championships, production has ceased.

Filming didn’t resume until September 2020 during the new school year at Navarro College and Trinity Valley Community College, so there are new faces in the show’s cast. Despite COVID restrictions, filming may continue sporadically throughout the fall and winter.

When Navarro and Trinity Valley’s cheerleaders arrive at the championship to defend their title, it’s April 2021. The next jump takes the series in June of that year to catch up with a few members and receive updates on what they’ve been through up to the end of the competition and the school year.
