CAUSE William does not want to attend the memorial service for his mother Diana with brother Prince Harry amid their rift, a royal source has claimed.
The Duke of Cambridge was said to have remained “furious” at his brother for several weeks before the statue was unveiled at Kensington Palace last year to mark their mother’s 60th birthday.
Both brothers went to war with each other after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle chose to step down as senior royals in Megxit.
At this event, it seems the siblings have put their differences aside to honor Diana – although Harry is said to have left 20 minutes after sharing a glass of bubbly after the event.
However, a close friend has revealed that Prince William did not want to go to the event with his brother.
They told Sunday Times: “William is still very angry. He took the view that he would only give so much. He just doesn’t want to go there [with Harry]. ”
An aide added that the Duchess of Cambridge has been “wonderful” when Harry is back in the UK – working hard behind the scenes to ensure that the event runs smoothly.
But insiders have warned that the broken relationship between the two may never be mended after their relationship hit rock bottom as Harry and Meghan gave sensational interviews for Oprah.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made a series of shocking allegations against the royal family, which are believed to have fueled the brotherly feud.
The couple stated that an unnamed person members of the Royal Family made racist comments about the skin tone of Archie lipstick.
Harry also criticized his father Charles and said that William, 39, and the family were stuck.
Meghan also revealed that she has discourages seeking mental health support when she was in crisis, adding that she even felt suicidal while pregnant with Archie.
Speaking to ITV’s Tom Bradbury in 2019, Prince Harry admitted that he doesn’t see his younger brother as often as he used to, and he doesn’t deny the rift.
He once again alluded to the strained relationship in an ITV documentary about him and Meghan Markle during their 10-day tour of Africa with son Archie.
Biographer Robert Lacey says that in April the brothers had an argument shortly after the funeral of Prince Philip, their grandmother’s husband of more than 70 years, and showed no sign of improving.
In his book, Battle of Brothers, a source close to William claims that he believes Meghan has always had an “agenda”.
