CAUSE William and Prince Charles are said to be “absolutely angry” with Prince Andrew over his mounting legal bills, it was reported today.
The Duke of Cornwall and the Duke of Cambridge are said to be furious at suggestions the Queen could be asked to settle her son’s fees – although some sources have said she would not. so.
Andrew is currently waiting for the judge to decide Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s civil suit was dismissed.
And in the meantime, he is believed to be raising funds to pay for the ongoing legal battle, with Wills and Charles both said to have been adamant that the Queen should not bail him out.
A source told mirror: “Both are of the opinion that Andrew can handle the mess on his own.”
Prince Andrew has always vehemently denied the allegations against him.
If the case goes ahead, he will face a full civil trial in New York alleging he sexually abused Ms Giuffre three times in 2001 when she was 17.
But insiders have confirmed he can try to get the case out of court if it goes to trial, with his lawyers keeping the settlement option “on the table” due to the negative impact a court case could have on other senior royals.
In that case, it is thought the Duke could have paid more than $5 million (£3.7 million) to convince her to settle.
A source told The Mirror: “This is a tough time for Andrew on a number of fronts.
“He is covering all the expenses himself so he needs to raise cash quickly to pay the bills that are increasing day by day.
“If there’s a possibility of settlement, that’s an option, but the Queen certainly wouldn’t support him in doing it.”
It came after it was revealed Andrew has sold his £17m home in Verbier, Switzerland – and could use the money to fund his case.

The duke is said to be confident the paperwork will be completed soon and needs the money to fund his sexual abuse case.
A source close to the company said: “A buyer has been found and a price has been agreed.
“Things are underway. It’s not done yet. But it is hoped very soon.”
The duke’s team is waiting for a judge to decide whether Ms Giuffre’s civil case should be completely reduced.
They claim a secret 2009 deal she made with billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein exempted Andrew from legal action.
But Judge Lewis Kaplan The inability to accept the pending offer means that the attorneys will have to decide whether to settle or risk fierce objections from the attorneys in court.
Ms Giuffre claims she was forced to have sex with Andrew three times between 1999 and 2002 – in London, New York and on Epstein’s private Caribbean island, which he vehemently denies.
Now 38 years old, she has filed a lawsuit against emotional distressed Andrew.
There has been no discussion of whether or not her case should be resolved out of court between Andrew and his team so far, it is understood.
A settlement means that he – and potentially other close members of the Company – will avoid going to court.
Buckingham Palace declined to comment.
