They were joined by Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton as they looked at the floral tributes left to Her Majesty following her tragic death aged 96 on Thursday.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told The Sun Online this shows “real progress” in the brothers’ ending their feud.

He said: “This is a sensational surprise to see them together at Windsor and to watch the tributes paid to one of the greatest of our monarchs.

“It would benefit everyone to heal this rift, the Sussexes would have no work without their royal status. The royal family has suffered greatly from their attacks, particularly on Oprah.

“We thought that although they lived so close together in Windsor, the once inseparable brothers were very far apart.”

Mr Fitzwilliams thinks it is “very possible” that Harry will take a more active role in forthcoming deals.

He added: “The Queen has always said the Sussexes are ‘popular members’ of the royal family.

“They had to resign and were publicly bitter.

“King Charles sent you his love in his touching address. Now we are seeing real progress.

“Will Harry be an active participant in the upcoming ceremonies to honor his beloved late grandmother? That now seems very possible.”

Williams’ official spokesman confirmed that he invited Harry and Meghan to watch the awards with him today.

It is understood that he believed it was an important sign of unity at a difficult time for the family.

The olive branch is also a clear indication that William might be ready to forget hers obvious feud.

They were last seen together in public at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.

However, it is believed that they avoided each other during a memorial service at St Paul’s and failed to acknowledge each other.

It is understood that relations between the once close couple are still at “rock bottom”.

Harry and Meghan’s exit from royal life is said to still be raw for William – especially after it was revealed his brother is planning a tell-all book.

It comes as…

Royal commentator Adam Helliker told The Sun Online that the couples getting together could be the “start of something positive” and end their “soap opera” feud.

He said: “I think that crowd obviously appreciated seeing the two boys and their respective wives standing together.

“It was a big surprise considering what has happened over the last two to three years after all the difficulties.”

Mr Helliker believes this could be the couple’s start to “put things right again”.

He added: “There was quite a loving look between Meghan and Kate at one point I thought, which bodes very well for the future.

“It could be the start of something positive and really quite wonderful.

“They say out of grief, families are often united.

“We’ve had the most horrible news of the death of the Queen and I think most people who are monarchists don’t want this soap opera to continue, it’s done enough damage.”

King Charles wished Harry and Meghan well and their lives “abroad” as he delivered his first address to the nation on Friday.

The 73-year-old monarch also paid tribute to his “beloved mama” and pledged to a life of service.

King Charles III Speaking of his two children in the speech, he said he wanted to “express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives abroad.”
