Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s pal says it’s “beyond madness” that the couple were “not invited” to the palace reception

A pal of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has made the decision to ‘uninvite’ the couple from tonight’s ‘Reception of the Century’.
A friend of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has said the decision not to invite the couple to the meeting of world leaders at Buckingham Palace was “beyond crazy”.

Speaking to the Sunday Times, the unnamed insider said: “It’s completely crazy when they’re not around. Everyone comes from all over the world to pay their respects to the Queen.”
They reportedly added that the flip-flop over the invitation, as well as allowing Harry to wear a military uniform while standing guard at the late monarch’s coffin last night, could make them feel “left out”.
According to the source, the ordeal could make the couple feel like “the majority of the surgery opposes it [them].
“It’s hard — no one likes to feel left out.”
Buckingham Palace will host a state event tonight for the over 1,000 world leaders who will attend the Queen’s funeral tomorrow.
Guests include US President Joe Biden and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.
Dress code frustration
This comes after Prince Harry was reportedly “heartbroken” that the Queen removed the “ER” initials from the shoulder of the uniform he wore for yesterday’s vigil.
It is believed that the removal of the ER initials was due to dress code, as traditionally they are only worn by those serving the monarch.
But another source told the Sunday Times: “He is heartbroken. Removing his grandmother’s initials feels very intentional.”
The prince’s frustration is believed to stem from his uncle Prince Andrew keeping the letters, despite being the subject of a number of scandals in recent years.
Royal shock
Both Harry and Andrew are reportedly on the verge of being fired from key royal roles as King Charles plans a reorganization of the royal family.
Currently, under the Regency Act 1937, a monarch’s spouse and the four adults next in line to the throne can be appointed to official affairs as advisers to the state.
That now includes Prince Harry, Prince Andrew and Princess Beatrice, who are not working members of the royal family.
The king is understood to want to change the current status so that others can step in should the sovereign be abroad or unable to work.
According to reports, the Earl of Wessex and the Princess Royal could be contenders to take on the role in the King’s absence.
