CAUSE Andrew’s pathetic Newsnight interview is proof of his “guilty,” his sexual assault accuser’s lawyers claimed last night.
He was also accused of “shaming the victim” after his legal team launched a blistering personal attack on Virginia Roberts Giuffre.
The Duke of York sparked fury with a legal filing in October that claimed Virginia was a “money-hungry kitten”. The person just sued him for “another payday”.
LA attorney Andrew Brettler also claimed she was the “leader” of Epstein’s human trafficking ring and worked with Ghislaine Maxwell to find his victims.
David Boies, an attorney for Virginia, protested yesterday when he filed a lawsuit in a New York court against Andrew’s recommendation to fire him.
He criticized the royal for using his defense of her lawsuit as a “press release” to sway her “credibility, character and motives”.
He said it was “in fact unfounded and continues (Andrew)’s attempt to avoid confronting his wrongdoing by trying to place blame and shame on his victim.” .
Mr Boies added: “(Andrew’s) actions were intended and widely used as a press release to attack Ms Giuffre in the media.
“(Andrew) dared to carry out baseless attacks, defaming Miss Giuffre in his petition simply because doing so in a filing court insulates him from a defamation lawsuit that otherwise will result.
Mr Boies also addressed the Duke’s car crash interview with BBC Newsnight in 2019 – saw him banished from royal duties.
He wrote: “In that interview, Prince Andrew said he could not remember ever meeting Miss Giuffre, a denial that contradicts the photographs and other evidence that in itself is a sign of guilt. .”
Andrew famously stated in the interview that he is medically unable to sweat, a response to Virginia’s account of a supposedly sweaty dance in London.
And he claims a photo of himself with Virginia’s arm around him – believed to have been taken at Maxwell’s home – may have been convincing because he had never met her.
Mr Boies’ profile also prompted the Duke to “stone” the US federal investigation into Epstein’s crimes, and “refuse to cooperate” with victims who are suing the late financier.
‘RENT OUTSIDE UNITY’
Virginia’s lawsuit claims the Duke sexually abused her at Maxwell’s London home at Epstein’s home in New York and the US Virgin Islands.
In the latest filing, Mr Boies said Epstein “lent it to the royal family” when she was under 18.
In each incident, he wrote: “Miss Giuffre did not consent to engage in any sexual activity with Prince Andrew, but she feared she would be harmed, even killed, if she did not listen to Epstein, Maxwell and Prince Andrew. Prince Andrew.
“In each case, Prince Andrew knew that (Virginia) was a victim of sex trafficking, and intended to coerce her into submission to satisfy his own sexual desires.”
Andrew, 61, denied his claims. You can made to sit for a deposition before the trial next fall.
Ex-wife Sarah Ferguson may also be asked to give evidence, the lawyer said.
Andrew’s rep declined to comment today.
In the past, he has vehemently denied any contact with Virginia and denied he knew of any wrongdoing by Epstein.
His old friend Maxwell, 59, was put on trial this week in Manhattan on charges of trafficking young girls for Epstein, who killed himself in 2019.
Yesterday Epstein’s pilot said Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton and Donald Trump all flew on his private jet “Lolita Express”.
