Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson fear being kicked out of Royal Lodge but are ‘safe for now’

PRINCE Andrew and Fergie will remain in their 31-bed home at the Royal Lodge in Windsor for the time being but still fear they will be sacked.
The Duke of York signed a 75-year lease on the mansion, but the deal means he could receive up to £7million in compensation if he is asked to move out.

The new king is unlikely to make a decision any time soon, as insiders say the couple is “safe for now.”
However, it is understood that they are expecting a termination while the royal family reviews their huge property portfolio.
Last month The Sun revealed ex-wife Sarah Ferguson – who lives at Royal Lodge with Andy – spent £5million on a new home in Mayfair, despite claims it was an investment for her daughters.
There are questions about how Fergie financed the purchase.
The Sun can reveal that the couple still haven’t sold their Verbier chalet a year after accepting an offer.

A source said: “They are no longer under the Queen’s protection but it would be callous to throw them out so soon after their deaths.
“But when he’s off duty during the cost-of-living crisis and shaking around a £30million mansion, that’s a horrific sight.”
Another insider said they feared they would be “thrown to the wolves” in the coming months.
A 2005 report by the National Audit Office stated that if Andrew leaves, the Royal Lodge will return to the Crown Estate.
He would receive “compensation for renovation costs” estimated at £7million.
A spokesman for the Duke of York did not comment.
