Preview ONE Championship Saygid Izagakhmaev vs. James Nakashima

In A championship: Heavy Hitters, a battle of wrestlers from different backgrounds that explodes the main card. In the ninth inning of the event, the highly-anticipated Saygid Izagakhmaev made his ONLY debut against former welterweight title contender James Nakashima.

This match makes for an interesting clash as both consider wrestling as their basic martial art. When two wrestlers collide, one of two things can happen.

First, it will become a stand-alone fight as both will neutralize each other’s grappling game. Second, it can decide who gets knocked down first because wrestlers aren’t the most comfortable fighting their backs.

Izagakhmaev, known as the heir to the legendary MMA Khabib Nurmagomedov, will show his mentor’s debilitating wrestling inside the cage.

In addition to his grappling prowess, Dagestani has the height and reach to be dangerous against the Thai clinch. Add these two together and he will be a force within the Circle.

As for Nakashima, the former national wrestling champion has a standing match to match his grappling expertise. Trained under legendary boxer Giorgio ‘The Doctor’ Petrosyan, Nakashima has come a long way with his excellence. The former PFL champion dominated Izagakhmaev’s teammate Raimond Magomedaliev and UFC vet Yushin Okami with superb kickboxing.

Both fighters are in a gunfight to the finish line and it will certainly be interesting to watch them lock their horns inside the cage.

In the third main card fight, Saygid Izagakhmaev will face James Nakashima in a light match.

Nakashima has been tried and tested and possibly the toughest test for Izagakhmaev’s debut. The Illinois native is dangerous in both grappling and attacking and the Dagestani debutant will have a tough night ahead.
