Premier Legault announces plan to increase the number of people with Quebec disease in NHL

Quebec Premier François Legault is expected to make an announcement late Thursday regarding the development of professional hockey in the province.
Legault has been giving hints about his plans over the past few weeks, and he tweeted a photo of himself in late October in reference to his discussions with the head of Hockey Quebec about how to increase the number of Quebecers in the NHL.
Call of the Wilde: Montreal Canada’s fortunes unchanged with 3-2 defeat to New York Rangers
The prime minister told a radio station in Quebec’s Mauricie region last week that he wanted to improve the training of “future” NHL players in the province.
He said Quebe Cancer’s pride in the Montreal Canada team would be enhanced if the NHL team had more players from the province.
In May, Legault publicly lamented the absence of Quebec-born players from Habs’ roster after the team didn’t wear a Quebecer for one of its matches – the first on the calendar team history.
The Canadaiens are currently ranked 29th in the NHL, having won four of their 18 games.
