Praised writer and feminist dies at 69

Renowned author, professor, critic and feminist died Wednesday at his home in Kentucky, Lexington Herald-Leader confirm. She was 69 years old.
According to a press release from her niece Ebony Motley, hooks was sickened and died by friends and family.
Born Gloria Jean Watkins, hooks adopted her great-grandmother’s name as her pseudonym, stylizing it with lowercase letters to emphasize “the contents of the books, not who I am”, she speak.
She leaves behind a long career and a devoted fan base, has debuted more than 40 books on topics such as “race, gender and class – and the connection between all three”, reports The Independent.
