PORTUGAL have suffered serious injury damage ahead of the World Cup quarter-finals.
Fernando Santos’ side are in top form after beating Switzerland 6-1 in the round of 16.
Goncalo Ramos scored a brilliant hat-trick after coming on for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Now they are preparing to take on Saturday’s quarter-finals against Morocco, who are still on cloud nine after their epic penalty shoot-out win over Spain.
However, Santos was rocked by the news that two of his stars are leaving Qatar to receive treatment for injuries sustained at the World Cup.
Paris Saint-Germain team-mates Danilo and Nuno Mendes had both hoped to remain in the Portuguese camp for the duration of the tournament.
However, PSG have now decided that the duo should return to the club and be treated by their own staff.
Now GOAL claims that the Portuguese bosses have approved the request “after several days of back and forth” between the two camps.
Danilo and Mendes are both needed by PSG for the Champions League round of 16 against Bayern Munich on February 14.
And the defending Ligue 1 champions are keen to get the pair over their injury setbacks by then.

Danilo, who can play both in defense and in midfield, only featured in the group stage’s 3-2 win over Ghana.
He suffers from a rib injury.
Nuno Mendes’ only appearance in the premier club also came in the group stage, when he started a 2-0 win over Uruguay.
However, his night was cut short when he was substituted off with a hamstring problem just before the break.
