Port Authority T service was restored after the power outage halted rail vehicles

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — The Port Authority’s T service is being restored after a catenary power problem halted rail vehicles during Tuesday morning’s rush hour.

Service to the Gateway Center and North Shore was closed, and shuttle buses ran to transport T riders.

Power was restored around 10:30 a.m

While crews work on the catenary, the Port Authority said Blue/Silver Line drivers at Memorial Hall, Killarney and McNeilly will board all cars on the outbound side.

Officials have not said what caused the blackout.

Stay tuned to KDKA for the latest updates on this developing story.
