The restaurant empire, which has 56 locations worldwide, is known for serving elegant entrees that range in price from $20 to over $180 per plate.

However, the restaurant takes place behind closed doors Malibu The location is under fire for allegedly failing to protect its female employees from harassment and sexual advances from managers and patrons, a lawsuit says.
A lawsuit was filed Wednesday in California Superior Court by attorney Bernard Alexander accuses Nobu Malibu of instructing its female hostesses to “dress skimpy clothing and ward off unwanted sexual advances.”

“The ‘keep it or keep it’ work environment was created to maintain Nobu’s glamorous reputation and allay employees’ fear of losing their jobs,” Alexander claims in the lawsuit.
Plaintiff Jane Doe, a hostess at Nobu Malibu, claims that a manager named Marcus repeatedly touched her buttocks while she was working.
The filing states that the manager once “held both her hands back and kissed her neck after drinking.”
Jane Doe says she and other female hostesses repeatedly complained to supervisors about Marcus’ alleged behavior.
Nobu fired Marcus, but he was allowed to return to the restaurant as a guest and forced hostesses who had complained about his behavior to “work out of fear” of encountering him, the lawsuit says.
Nobu Malibu managers were also accused of “providing preferential treatment to women who performed sexual favors on them, both on the premises and before and after work,” the lawsuit says.
“It’s a frustrating irony that Nobu does you justice Hollywood “A customer list that routinely protests and cancels contemporaries who engage in the same kind of misogynistic and exploitative behavior that Nobu’s managers appear to encourage,” Alexander said.
According to the filing, male employees of the restaurant were not forced to make unwanted sexual advances.
The plaintiff seeks at least $500,000 in damages for sexual assault and battery, negligent hiring and supervision, employment discrimination based on sex, harassment and retaliation.
