Police storm community center after report of mass murder and discover bodies were people doing yoga

Police stormed a community center after a 911 call about a mass murder – only to discover that the “bodies” were people doing yoga.

A distressed citizen alerted emergency services after seeing several motionless figures on the ground.

But officers – who arrived with sirens blaring and raced to the venue’s cafe – returned to a Zen-like state when they found those in attendance completely relaxed.

It turned out that the local yoga class had just been meditating.

Bosses at the Seascape Café at the North Sea Observatory in Chapel St Leonards, Lincoln, said on Facebook: “If anyone heard the mass of police sirens at 9.30pm last night then please be reassured.

“They were on their way to the observatory after someone reported a mass murder in our building and saw several people lying on the floor – which actually turned out to be a yoga meditation class.”

Lincolnshire Police confirmed the emergency call was made “with good intentions” at 8.56pm on Wednesday.

It said: “Officers attended and we are pleased to report that everyone was safe and well.”

Yoga classes take place regularly in the evenings in the Observatory’s café on the beach.

Managers thanked officials for their “prompt response.”

And about the police drama, they added: “I can’t imagine for a moment what would be going through their minds along the way.

“We don’t belong to any crazy cult or crazy club.

“All in all, this situation has been positive and we are of course grateful for that.”
