Police search for missing teenager Jack Gillespie, 17, find body

A body was found during a search for missing teenager Jack Gillespie, police have confirmed.

Jack, 17, was last seen in the early hours of yesterday morning in Worth Matravers, Dorset.

The body was discovered nearby around 9:15 p.m. that night.

Investigators said that while Jack’s family has not yet been officially identified, Jack’s family has been briefed on developments in the case.

They added that the death would not be treated as suspicious.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “Regrettably, officers searching for a missing teenager in Purbeck have found a body.”

“The searches were carried out with the support of the Coast Guard and Dorset Search and Rescue (DorSAR).

“While formal identification has not yet been made, Jack’s family has been informed.

“We would like to thank everyone who has helped with the search and our thoughts are with Jack’s family and loved ones at this extremely difficult time.”
