Police rush to Menlo Park Mall in Edison, New Jersey, after reports of fighting as shoppers say “something crazy is going on”.

A NEW JERSEY community has jumped to social media with reports of a possible fight at the Menlo Park mall.

Video footage posted around 8:30 p.m. Saturday night shows police cars speeding through the mall’s parking lot.

The thirty-second clip caught at least eight different police vehicles driving past the Macy’s entrance with a car parked outside the doors.

Sirens wailed and a group of people could be seen on the sidewalk.

“Something crazy is happening at Menlo Park Mall,” one wrote affected Twitter user.

“There are police officers from multiple districts,” added another person.

A witness reported seeing squad cars from the Edison County Police Department and the New Jersey State Police Department.

A social media user speculated that the police responded to a stabbing.

“I’ve heard there’s been a sting and they’re on lockdown, but that’s all the information I’ve received so far. I’m not sure how accurate this information is,” reiterated another.

The Edison Police Department could not confirm whether the stabbing occurred or provide any further details as the incident is currently being “investigated en route.”
